Baking Powder1 Tbsp.In a large mixing bowl, whisk the flour, sugar, baking powder and salt.
💡 Tip
IF you are putting fruit or flavorings in, do it now. Mixing the fruit with the dry stuff coats it and helps it to blend evenly.

The Melted Butter method .. just mix melted butter in with the milk slowly. It may curdle a bit, but that's OK. Also you can warm the milk a bit, 30 seconds in the microwave.
💡 Tip
Most recipes use cold butter, crumbled into the flour.. this is a hard way to do it IF you are a beginner.
Whisk together the egg and the milk / butter mixture.
💡 Tip
This can also be buttermilk if you like.
Slowly pour the milk mixture into the flour and stir. Lifting and kneading with the spoon until it comes together.
💡 Tip
It should stick together and not fall apart and be crumbly. Add a tsp. more milk if it is too dry.
Dust the countertop with a bit of flour and dump the dough out. Knead, pat, squish and shape to make two same size balls. Pat each one and keep shaping into a round disc. Each one will be about 1.5 inches thick and 6 or 7 inches across.
💡 Tip
One giant disc or circle will work too! About 1.5" thick.
Transfer your disc to your parchment lined or greased baking sheet. Cut each disc into 6 wedges.

Bake in the oven, 20 to 25 minutes.
